Ethos 001
I believe teaching creative subjects is all about creating a safe and fair environment where pupils can simply walk into the studio and understand their target. From there, making mistakes and learning hands on with the teacher is the main focus.
On practice 002
Firm, fair, fun and accessible.
I believe any curriculum I deliver should be easy to follow and accessible in every way possible. If a pupil can walk in, see the target and know what a good outcome looks like, the rest of the lesson is about making.
That means building flexible scaffolds and using techniques that let every pupil access my class at their own pace, and still reach the same amazing outcomes as everyone else in the room.
Being fair and understanding is what allows me to build outstanding relationships with pupils, and those relationships are what create outstanding outcomes.

Pull quote 004
"Mistakes are part of the learning process, and once pupils believe that, they realise they are capable of much more than they think."
